Terms and conditions of purchase

In purchasing tickets for entry into the National Tramway Museum, you enter into an agreement with The Tramway Museum Society on these ticket specific terms that incorporate the “Common Terms” on this website applicable to all transactions. 

Classes of Ticket Holders

For the purpose of ticket sales the following definitions apply:

·       An Adult is a person aged over 17 years.

·       A Child is a person aged from 4 years to 16 years (inclusive). Children under the age of 16 will not be admitted without an adult.

·       A child under the age of 4 does not require a ticket.

Online Ticket Confirmation and Redemption

When you have purchased your National Tramway Museum Annual Pass online, a confirmation email and reference number will be sent to the e-mail address you have used. It is your responsibility to check prior to purchase that the information you have supplied to us in respect of your ticket requirements is accurate. We are only responsible for issuing tickets in accordance with the information you provide.

Your email confirmation will act as your 12 month National Tramway Museum Annual Pass.

 

If you misplace your email, please email  [email protected] and we will resend your confirmation.

In order to validate your 12 month National Tramway Museum Annual Pass, some form of ID will need to be shown on each visit, alongside your confirmation email.

National Tramway Museum Annual Pass Terms and Conditions of use

National Tramway Museum Annual Pass is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Free return admission on full price tickets only (including Adult, Child and Family tickets) refers to the 12 month period from when you FIRST VISIT with your full priced ticket and available during our public opening dates only. Ticket holders can gain free entry to the National Tramway Museum during normal daytime opening hours (last admission 3pm during our winter opening hours and 4pm during our summer opening hours for 12 months from the date of purchase.

National Tramway Museum Annual Pass is non-refundable and non transferable.

In order to validate your 12 month National Tramway Museum Annual Pass, some form of ID will need to be shown on each visit to prove your identity.

National Tramway Museum Annual Pass is for the use of the named individual only.  Identification checks will be made on entry to ensure the named person is visiting. The National Tramway Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to someone who cannot prove they are the named individual on the ticket. Your National Tramway Museum Annual Pass /email confirmation will act as proof of purchase and must be produced on arrival to gain admission.  If you lose or forget your ticket or membership card/email, please bring along a form of ID with you on your visit and our Entrance Team will search for you on the museum’s database. We do not accept responsibility for the loss of 12 month tickets. We require proof of purchase in the form of a bank statement to re-issue your ticket. We accept a photo of the purchased ticket as a digital copy.  We offer gift vouchers in place of tickets. Please see the ticket page of our website for details.

At times we do offer tickets at special rates. Tickets purchased at these rates are only valid on specific dates. We are happy to upgrade your ticket to TMS Membership, however you will be required to pay the difference. There are a small number of days and events when the Annual Pass is not valid, including Premium events such as Tramlight. Admission information will be included in the event details, however please telephone the museum or visit our website for details if you are unsure.

Children under 16 years of age must always be accompanied by an adult.

The Annual Pass may not be used for group/educational visits or in conjunction with any other concessions, discounts, or for commercial/business use. Discounted tickets do not offer 12 months free return and must be purchased on arrival.

The museum reserves the right to refuse admission.

Evening Events

National Tramway Museum Annual Pass is not valid for Evening Events. Tickets for evening events are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event, or replaced in the event of loss.

Resale

No ticket may be resold without the prior written consent of the National Tramway Museum. If any person attempts to enter the Museum with a ticket that has been resold without the Museum’s written consent, we may refuse entry and no compensation is payable to that person by the Tramway Museum Society.

Refunds and Exchanges

National Tramway Museum Annual Pass is non refundable and non exchangeable once they have been redeemed or validated.

Tickets for evening events are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event from the date of purchase.

Other Terms and Conditions

Disabled visitor tickets may only be purchased on arrival and are valid for free return within 12 months subject to when we are open and excluding Premium events. Under 4 year olds and dogs on a lead are admitted free of charge.

Discounted tickets such as Blue Light, English Heritage and Caravan Club can only be purchased on arrival. (Contact us for prices).

Dogs

Dogs on a lead are accepted, provided that owners control them and clean up after them. They are not permitted in the cafe or the indoor children’s play area, but can go everywhere else, including on the floor of the lower decks of trams. They are permitted in the Red Lion pub, where you can purchase snacks. Please be aware that some visitors may by afraid of or allergic to dogs, so they should be kept close to the owner at all times.

Buggies and Pushchairs

We provide a shelter at Town End for buggies and pushchairs while you ride the trams. (Please do not leave valuables.)

Pre-1980 Vehicles

There is free admission for drivers of pre-1980 vehicles if parked in the Museum street for a minimum of 3 hours. Please note for themed events, your vehicle must match the theme and booking is necessary to confirm availability. Passengers are required to pay for full priced tickets. These can be purchased online at least 24 hours in advance.
